Engineering Physics MPhys

This Engineering Physics MPhys (Hons) degree builds on the core physics degree and adds to it the study of modern engineering methods, allowing students to immerse themselves in innovative projects with the support of brand-new, world-class facilities and equipment. The Engineering Physics MPhys (Hons) course may be taken in four or five years. The five-year version of the engineering Physics MPhys (Hons) course includes either a sandwich year of employment in industry or a year of study abroad between the second and the third or the third and the fourth year of study. The course is assessed by based on a variety of tasks including individual essays, projects, laboratory work, and contribution in tutorials, group work and presentations. A degree in Engineering Physics can lead to many and varied career opportunities. We strive to develop knowledge and practical abilities in our students that are valued in the workplace, including interpersonal and presentation skills. Many of our Physics graduates pursue careers in professional science and technical activities, manufacturing, information and communication, construction, and transport and storage. Others go on to work in education, human health or the finance sector.
